We highly recommend staying at our school, where we offer comfortable rooms with private bathrooms and inviting common areas.

Is tap water safe to drink?

We recommend drinking bottled water or filtered water. Most accommodations (including our school) include a water dispenser for students.

Does the accommodation at the school include breakfast?

Yes, breakfast is included with all on-site stays!

Which beaches are best for swimming or surfing?

Carrizalillo: calm waves, perfect for swimming and beginner surfers.

Zicatela: famous for big waves and surf competitions.

La Punta: great for intermediate surfers and sunset views.

Can I take surf lessons while studying Spanish?

Yes, many students combine Spanish classes with surf lessons. We can help you book a reliable local instructor.

What other activities can I enjoy?

What kind of food will I find in Puerto Escondido?

You´ll find all kinds of fresh food, including seafood, international cuisine as well as plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.

Is street food safe?

Generally yes, but choose stands with good hygiene and a steady stream of local customers.

Is Puerto Escondido safe and can I pay with credit cards?

Puerto is considered one of the safest beach towns in Mexico. We recommend taking normal precautions-don´t leave valuables unattended.

Many places accept credit cards, but it´s wise to carry some cash. There are several ATMs in town that work with international cards.

When is the best time to visit?

Puerto Escondido has warm weather year-round. Try dry season (November-May) when it is sunny and ideal for beach activities.

What should I pack?
